The St. Louis Blues have a community outreach program called the Street Blues initiative. This is a free ball hockey program aimed to get elementary and middle school-aged children interested in the game of hockey. This program offers area schools a PE class curriculum and teaches the students the skills needed for the game of hockey, as well as provides the equipment.
The Danby Middle School was chosen as a participant in the program this week. They worked on skills Monday and Tuesday and on Wednesday they got to play games. The school received a complete set of equipment for a full PE class. The equipment included four nets, sticks, and a case of hockey balls.
